Mae'n rhaid tynnu ardaloedd o fawn dwfn o'r fath o gynigion creu coetiroedd. Mae map 'Mawndiroedd Cymru' (2022) yn nodi dosbarthiad diweddar o fawn ledled Cymru. Mae'n ffurfio rhan o gyfres o fapiau mawndir, gan gynnwys sgôr tystiolaeth mawn ac amcangyfrif o stociau carbon a ddangosir ar Fap Data Cymru. Crëwyd yr haenau data ar grid 50m lle esboniwyd presenoldeb mawn o amrywiaeth o ffynonellau ar gyfer pob cell grid 50m ledled Cymru.  Rhoddir sgôr tystiolaeth i bob cell grid, sy'n diffinio lefel yr hyder o safbwynt presenoldeb mawn. Mae'r set ddata hon yn darparu amlinelliad o'r holl gelloedd grid 50m sydd â sgôr tystiolaeth mawndir o 2 neu fwy.
